At Highlighters, we understand that travel plans can change. Our cancellation and refund policy is designed to be as fair and transparent as possible while covering the costs already incurred in organizing your trip.
Cancellation by the Customer
If you wish to cancel your booking, please notify us in writing via email or WhatsApp as early as possible. The date we receive your cancellation request will determine the applicable cancellation charges.
Standard Cancellation Charges
30 days or more before the tour date will receive a 90% refund of the total amount paid.
15 to 29 days before the tour date will receive a 50% refund.
7 to 14 days before the tour date will receive a 25% refund.
Less than 7 days before the tour date will receive no refund.
No-shows or early departures are non-refundable.
Please note that the advance booking amount is generally non-refundable, as we commit these funds to hotel reservations, vehicle bookings, permits, and other services in advance.
Cancellation by Highlighters
In the unlikely event that we are required to cancel a tour due to unavoidable circumstances such as natural calamities, strikes, government restrictions, or safety concerns, we will offer you the option of rescheduling or a full refund of the booking amount, as applicable. However, we will not be liable for any additional charges incurred by you such as train or flight tickets booked independently.
Partial Cancellations or Modifications
If you wish to shorten or modify your trip after confirmation, any refund or extra charge will depend on the policies of the service providers involved, such as hotels or transport vendors. We will do our best to assist with these changes wherever feasible.
Refund Timeline
All eligible refunds will be processed within 7 to 10 working days from the date of written confirmation. Refunds will be issued to the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.
Non-Refundable Situations
Unused services during the tour, such as missed meals, unused transport, or skipped sightseeing, will not be refunded.
No refunds will be issued for failure to appear at the scheduled departure time.
Refunds will not apply in cases of weather disruptions or road closures if we provide alternate services.
Bookings made under special offers, discounts, or non-refundable categories are not eligible for refunds.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers cancellations, medical issues, and trip interruptions. Travel insurance is not included in our package costs unless explicitly mentioned.
